A one-day training event for social workers, personal advisors, carers, and others who work daily with young people in care. Designed and delivered by our Coaching & Support Team, this event introduces a coaching approach to working with young people in care.

Overall aim and outcomes

By the end of this session participants will be equipped with valuable new skills and a powerful coaching ‘toolkit’ to empower and support young people to thrive.

Session content

Through this event participants will learn about:

  • coaching psychology (positive psych, thoughts-feelings-behaviours, self-sabotage)
  • useful coaching models and tools
  • the impact of asking instead of advising
  • how to challenge limiting beliefs
  • raising aspirations; goal setting and motivation

Who is this aimed at?

Professionals and carers responsible for young people in care, particularly social workers, personal advisors, foster carers and residential care staff. This training can also be adapted for youth workers and teachers.
