Rebecca Williams (She/Her)

Senior Advice and Support Officer

What do you do at Become? I take calls and emails on the Care Advice Line from those who have questions or are seeking support around a range of issues faced by care experienced young people. I also help deliver workshops to care experienced young people around their rights and entitlements.

Can you say a bit about your past experience and qualifications? I studied English and Drama at university, and became involved with different community theatre projects through that, working predominantly with young people and women with experience of the criminal justice system. Later, I completed a masters in social work and worked as a children and families social worker for three years before joining Become.

What do you like about working at Become? Become is made up of a really friendly team, who strongly believe in the ethos and aims of the charity. I love being part of that. Alongside that, on a daily basis, I get to speak with different people all around the country, providing advice and support, and learning from them, which is a real privilege.

What drives you? A belief that change is possible.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I love seeing my friends, reading and eating enormous amounts of food.
