Head of Fundraising
What do you do at Become? I work with our fundraisers, individual donors and corporate partners who are committed to creating a better society for care-experienced young people. Whether donating directly or volunteering their time to take on a fundraising activity, Become cannot exist without their generosity. It’s very motivating to support every individual and group to maximise their impact.
Can you say a bit about your past experience and qualifications? I’ve worked in charity fundraising for about ten years, mostly fighting for a level playing field for disadvantaged young people in the UK, from health & education support in East Yorkshire, to young people’s mental health in London.
What do you like about working at Become? We’re a small but dynamic charity and every single colleague is committed to fighting for care-experienced children and young people.
What drives you? Kindness, empowerment and social justice.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Reading a fantasy novel is the best escapism. I also love football, going to the cinema and playing with my high-spirited staffy, Silvie.
