Become announced as BTMK charity of the year

Become, the leading charity for children in care and young care leavers, is delighted to announce that we will be the Charity of the Year for Essex law firm BTMK.

The partnership will begin from 1 April 2018 and will see BTMK hold a range of events and activities throughout the coming year to help children in care.

Natasha Finlayson, Chief Executive at Become, said: “Our mission at Become is to provide help, support and advice to children in care and young care leavers so that they can take control of their lives and unleash their potential. This Charity of the Year partnership with BTMK will help us continue to work towards achieving this mission.

“We have a proud history of fighting for the rights of a community of people who are often overlooked by society and giving a voice to the voiceless, and we believe that BTMK share these values. The money raised by BTMK will enable us to continue to support children not just in Essex, but across the whole country.”

Yvonne Hume, Solicitor and Director at BTMK, who nominated Become for Charity of the Year, said: “I represent children within the court system when they are removed from their parents care, so I feel that Become is particularly important, and I have been raising money for them in a personal capacity since 2011. We feel that the work that Become does is vital in helping young people to achieve their potential and the firm is pleased to be supporting such an important charity”

You can keep up to date with how the support from BTMK is helping Become change the lives of children in care and care leavers on the Become website.
