6 Hour Marathon - £60 Fundraising Target
12 Hour Marathon - £120 Fundraising Target
24 Hour Marathon - £240 Fundraising Target
1. CHOOSE YOUR DATE & TIME
Choose a date that suits you to take on your Become Players Marathon.
If you're taking on the BRONZE Marathon, your target is 6 hours straight. For the SILVER Marathon it's 12 hours of gaming. To go for GOLD, you need to game for the full 24 hours.
2. SET UP YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE
Visit www.justgiving.com/campaign/BecomePlayers2020 now to set up your page and start fundraising. The sooner you start, the more you can raise!
You can edit your page with your own bio and target for your chosen BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD distance.
If you're a skilled gamer, you can offer your own in-game handicaps or fun forfeits for higher donation amounts.
3. SPREAD THE WORD
Share your challenge with your community on social to build a buzz and raise more donations. Stream your marathon and remember to include the link to your JustGiving page.
Remember to use the hashtag #BecomePlayers

Why game for Become?
Children in care and care-experienced young people need you now more than ever. Many don't have a family support structure and are feeling particularly anxious and alone during this difficult time of isolation.
By joining #BecomePlayers you are helping to ensure that there’s someone at the end of the phone when a young person calls for help and that the voices of children in care and young care leavers are amplified and united at a time when they are struggling to be heard at all.
Thank you to all our #BecomePlayers

You can play any game on any console you like. You might choose Fortnite on PC, FIFA on PlayStation, or Donkey Kong on Nintendo 64. You can play multiple games during your marathon. The choice is yours.
You can even take it offline and have a marathon board game session.
Play one or multiple games for a prolonged period of time. The challenge is to complete your 6, 12 or 24 hour target.
You will need to take the odd break to go to the toilet, have some food, and get some fresh air.
Yes! Streaming your marathon on platforms such as Twitch, Mixer and YouTube Gaming is a great way to raise awareness and donations.
Remember to post the link to your JustGiving page on your stream and encourage your audience to donate.
JustGiving have created a step-by-step guide for embedding your JustGiving page for Become directly onto your stream.
Simply including the link to your JustGiving page on your stream is also good.
Remember to talk about your fundraising during your stream. Thank viewers for their donations and encourage others to help you reach your target.
Many fundraisers will play solo, but others will play and fundraise as a team. You can fundraise as a duo on Fortnite, a party on Dota II, or even a guild on World of Warcraft.
You can also play with someone in your household. If you're a carer or parent, think about teaming up with your kids. If you're a young person, why not take this challenge on with your carer, parent or sibling?
All donations made on your JustGiving page are forwarded directly to Become so you don't need to do anything.
If you're fundraising offline, you can transfer cash into a donation via our website or post a cheque.
On top of the huge amount of gratitude from Become and the young people we support, you will receive an official Become Players Marathon 2020 Certificate for either BRONZE, SILVER or GOLD.
If you share your social media handle with us, we will give you a big shout out to our wider community during the marathon.
We understand that many people right now are not in a position to donate to charity.
We are here to support you to raise as much as you can. If you would like to chat through an idea, get in touch!

There are no age restrictions but if you are under 18 you need to have permission from your parent(s) or the person(s) who care for you.
Maybe they'll want to do it with you!
We understand that everything should be done in moderation, including gaming. Breaks are encouraged during a gaming marathon.
The Become Players Marathon runs over a weekend to minimise impact upon education.
