Pride Month - Resources for LGBTQ+ Young People in Care

This Pride Month, we have been amplifying the fantastic organisations that support LGBTQ+ youth.

It’s been brilliant to see all the crucial work being done to provide advice and space for LGBTQ+ young people to thrive.

At Become, we exist for all young people in the care system, no matter their sexuality and gender identity. We’re here to help.

We are a proud member of the LGBTQ+ Youth In Care Network, a group of LGBTQ+ care leavers, local authorities, care organisations, charities and more who meet on a quarterly basis to try and build a better care system for LGBTQ+ people.

What’s more, we want to ensure LGBTQ+ young people in care feel safe, supported, understood, and seen. Inclusivity is incredibly important, but we also want to ensure that we are equipping LGBTQ+ young people with the best possible knowledge and networks they can access.

That’s why we have collated a list of resources, from helplines to videos to FAQS, that we have amplified this Pride Month. This page exists for young people in care with questions around sex, gender, gender identity, trans rights and LGBTQ+ issues.

Remember, if you are in care or a care leaver and you need help right now, you can call our Care Advice Line for free on 0800 023 2033, open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm.
