Permanence Options for Children Conference
The Joint Legal Team at Reading Borough Council are raising vital funds to support Become. Together, we can help children in care and care-experienced young people to get the support they need.
All young people need stability, support and love to be happy, and to make a positive start to their adult lives.
As a small charity, we rely on the kindness of individuals and groups like the Joint Legal Team at Reading Borough Council to be able to support and empower care-experienced people.
The Joint Legal Team at Reading Borough Council are coming together to raise vital funds to support Become’s direct services and campaigning for change. If you’re able to, please donate to help reach this target.
With your support, we can help more children in care and care-experienced young people to overcome challenges and move forward positively in their lives.
The conference aims to:
Educate and improve the knowledge of Social Workers, the Joint Legal Team, Judges and Private Practitioners in relation to permanence options for children, specifically to remove delay, standardise practices and build common ground when working together and also;
- To place the welfare of the child at the heart of permanence decisions
- To re-examine the legal framework of permanence options focusing on the impact on the child for the rest of the child’s life.
- To understand local developments in social work practice striving to achieve secure attachments in permanence and future safe contact
