Rebecca Jones

Senior Advice and Support Officer, Further and Higher Education

What do you do at Become?

I am in the Propel Team within our Services department. I offer advice and support to young people wanting to progress into Further or Higher Education. This can be 1-2-1 support, but also through workshops.

Can you say a bit about your past experiences and qualifications?

Before joining Become I worked at a number of Further and Higher Education institutions. I worked in a number of advice and support roles, as well being one of the Designated Member of Staff for care experienced and estranged students. Most recently I worked in the Outreach & Widening Participation Team at a university, in this role I developed and delivered outreach activities for care experienced students at local schools and colleges, as well as workshops for foster carers and training for professionals. I also gave advice and support for new students coming to the university. Before this I was a student advisor for care experienced students at a FE college.

What do you like about working at Become?

I love working with such a driven, passionate and friendly team.

What drives you?

Seeing the young people I work with achieve their goals. It’s a privilege to support their progression onto FE and HE.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy going for walks, art and anything creative and also spending time with friends.
