Propel yourself into work 

University isn’t for everyone, jobs and apprenticeships are a brilliant way to build your skills and experience, whilst also earning money.

‘Propel into Work’ is Become’s service for care-experienced young people up to age 27 and their supporting adults.

We provide information, advice and guidance for care-experienced young people, help you make confident choices about your career path, as well as providing 1:1 support with things like exploring different careers, job searching, creating or tailoring CV and cover letters, applying for jobs and apprenticeships and preparing for interviews. Wherever you are in your education or career, Propel into Work can help.

Vocational means education that links to a specific job or career. They are qualifications that have been designed with employers and usually involve both paid work and studying, e.g. apprenticeships and T-levels.

Support from Become’s Propel into Work service

Become’s Propel into Work service provides advice and information for care-experienced young people and their supporting adults on vocational pathways. Supporting adults includes people caring for or supporting young people, including foster carers, social workers, teachers, support workers and personal advisors. 

We also provide 1:1 support for young people with things like exploring different careers, job searching, creating or tailoring a CV/cover letter, applying for jobs and apprenticeships, preparing for interviews and transitioning into a new workplace. Sign up here and Get Work Ready!

Our Get Work Ready programme is designed to propel you on your career journey. Sign up here to Get Work Ready.

Through six 1:1 sessions, the ‘Get Work Ready’ programme aims to help you propel yourself into opportunities that help you progress in your career. The sessions will be tailored to you and can include support with exploring different careers, job searching, creating or tailoring a CV/cover letter, applying for jobs and apprenticeships and preparing for interviews.

We are co-producing employability workshops for young people, with employers and young people.
