Back to school: Training spotlight on transitions

From our Training and Development Manager, Katy Hudson

The ‘Back to School’ period is filled with exciting, sometimes daunting, changes: new classrooms, teachers, friends, and school environments.

Have you ever considered the additional types of transitions a care-experienced person might go through during their care journey? These may be related to education, but also where they live, their relationships, their routines etc.

Our training course, ‘Understanding & Supporting Care Experienced Young People through Transitions’, provides participants with the knowledge and tools to support children and young people effectively during these times.

By the end of the course, participants will walk away with insight into the following topics:

  • Transition stages in care
  • Fear and isolation experienced by children in care and care leavers
  • The emotional and practical challenges young people face
  • Keeping young people at the centre of transition
  • Methods and ideas for supporting young people effectively through transitions

This training can take place online or in person. For more information about training offers, or to book a training date, please email [email protected] or call our Training Team on 07498 774914.
