We are looking for creative, passionate young people aged 18 – 27, with lived experience of the care system, to co-design Become’s new ‘skills for work’ workshops for young people.
The co-production sessions will take place both in person in central London (on Saturday 20th of April) and online (early evening on a weekday TBC) to ensure that young people across England can contribute to this project. All sessions are likely to take between 2 and 3 hours and will be facilitated by Clancy, who manages our new Propel Into Work service and Will, our Senior Outreach and Participation officer.
Important: the co-production sessions are about developing Become’s new ‘skills for work’ workshops for young people and will not require you to discuss or share any details about your care experience.
The sessions will be fun, interactive and will help build your CV (we’ll also be able to give you a reference for future employment opportunities, once you’ve participated). Become is happy to provide payment for your time participating in this activity at £13.15 per hour (the same as the London Living Wage). You can choose whether or not you claim this. We also cover your costs to get there and back. If you would like to take part, please complete this short application form.
Please note that if we receive more applications than we have available places for, we may not be able to invite all interested applicants to participate, but we will follow up with everyone that applies and make sure that you’re made aware of all the brilliant services and support Become offers care-experienced young people and notified of our future paid opportunities via Become The Movement (if you consent).
Propel Into Work can also support you with things like job searching, creating or tailoring a CV/cover letter, applying for jobs and apprenticeships, preparing for interview and transitioning into a new workplace.
