The impact of our Let's Talk Relationships workshops

As our Let's Talk Relationships workshop series comes to a close, we take a look back at its impact...

[I learned] how to say something positive about myself.

⎯⎯ A young person who attended a workshop

Let’s Talk Relationships workshops were developed with the expertise of nine care-experienced young people, aged 16-18, and ran by our Services team.

The aims of these workshops:

  • Young people are better able to make informed, healthy choices about relationships – including what makes a healthy or an unhealthy relationship and where to go for advice, support and help.
  • To empower young people by providing information and choices on what they can access to support them around relational issues.
  • To look at the importance of a healthy relationship with ourselves.

Overall, we delivered 20 workshops to 104 young people, aged 15-18 years old. This page looks at the impact and reflections of these workshops.

What young people learned from the workshop:

“How to maintain healthy relationships and knowing how to manage it and who to speak to”

“What a healthy relationship looks like. How to escape”

“That mutual respect, understanding and communication is best for a healthy and long-lasting relationship”

“Understand what a healthy and unhealthy relationship is”

“How to identify an unhealthy relationship”

“Knowing what is a bad relationship”

“How to spot issues in relationships”

“Its ok to be yourself and reach out for yourself and others”

“How to release stress”

“Love yourself”

“To appreciate people more for who they are”

“Stress and how to deal with it”
