You made double the difference this Christmas
We’re delighted to announce that our amazing supporters have done it again! For the second year in a row, Become took part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge and once again we were blown away by the generosity of our supporters. It is thanks to your support that we were able to raise an incredible £4,091 for care-experienced children and young people across the country. Thank you.
A matched-funding opportunity, the Big Give 2018 Christmas Challenge launched on 27 November, ‘Giving Tuesday’. For one week only, all donations made through the Big Give were matched pound for pound making double the difference for children in care and young care leavers.
We were delighted to have our champion funder, The Dulverton Trust, on board this year. It’s thanks to their fantastic support that we were able to match all donations. Sharing why they chose to support children in care and young care leavers, Sarah Hale, Grants Manager, said:
“The Dulverton Trust was delighted to support Become with their Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign. It’s a great opportunity for the charity to galvanise extra funding to continue their incredibly important work supporting children and young people in care.”
Funds raised from the Christmas Challenge will go to our Care Advice Service which provides help and support to hundreds of children in care and young care leavers each year.
Through our advice line, face-to-face support, factsheets, and outreach workshops, our Care Advice Service provides necessary guidance on how care-experience young people can access the rights and entitlements they need. People like Daniel have somewhere to go when they need information or advice:
“Thank you to Become’s Care Advice Line for being there for me when I didn’t know who to turn to”.
A huge thank you on behalf of Daniel and all the care-experienced young people your donations will support, a big thank you for making a difference this Christmas.
