Opportunities with Become
Work with us on our Winter Appeal
This year we want to bring our supporters’ attention to the experiences of young people who are away from the key relationships in their life over the Christmas period. Your story would directly help us to raise funds and we’ll keep you updated with how it’s going.
All funds raised will be matched by very special celebrity match-funder, DJ and author Annie Mac, who has been a long-standing supporter of Become and champion of our work.
We’re asking you to tell us what you think about the importance of being close to key relationships over the Christmas period. You can submit content in any form you’d like (e.g. a blog, a video, an audio recording, a poem).
This is a paid opportunity, download the full brief below and then please let us know you are interested by 27 October 2023.

5-day skills and confidence building programme for care-experienced people
The programme will take place in London, on Nov 27 – Dec 1, 10am – 4pm each day.
You will learn about collaboration, creative leadership, finding mentors, building resilience and setting goals, whilst working as a team by co-creating a We Are Here Zine that will be printed and distributed at an end-of-programme event that will celebrate your achievements.
They will also offer digital coaching to those who aren’t from London.
Across the evening, you can watch and hear from young people of colour who will explore this theme in their own way. What does joy mean to them? How does it connect to their identity and culture? How do they remain joyful in a difficult but wonderful world?
Kids of Colour will also live stream this event, more information will be posted through their socials nearer the time. Get your ticket here.
