Meeting the Ukrainian Minister for Social Policy

We got the opportunity to influence decision-makers outside of the UK!

At Become, we strongly support care-experienced young people and encourage you to share your opinions with those in power to improve the system for future generations. Recently, we got the opportunity to speak with influential people outside of the UK.

We took some young people to meet the Ukrainian Minister for Social Policy to talk about the importance of listening to the voices of care-experienced children and young people in reforming their care system.

We want to thank Lorraine, Ty, Ella and Matt – you all spoke passionately about the importance of youth voice and shared your thoughts on care reform.

They were accompanied by Become’s Henri, Katharine and Clare.

Your voice is important

Join other care-experienced young people to fight for change in the care system.

You are an expert and your voice is incredibly important.

Our work to improve the care system is always delivered alongside young people with experience of care. For 30 years, we’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with children in care and young care leavers to create change.

We want to empower you to share your views with decision-makers and improve the system for future generations. We also want to support you to become decision-makers and challenge the systems and structures in place.
